Sue's Story

"RG Adoption Consulting, and especially Rachel, were significant sources of support and information throughout the process. I am so grateful I had them by my side." Sue, Tennessee

Sue’s Story

As a single woman in my 40s, I realized that pursuing single motherhood was the best option for fulfilling my lifelong dream of becoming a mother. After enduring failed fertility treatments, I wholeheartedly embraced adoption as the next step.

With only a few trusted loved ones aware of my plans, I embarked on a journey filled with hope and determination.

The adoption process surprised me with the amount of paperwork involved. The waiting period tested my patience, but my consultant Rachel’s encouragement kept me hopeful. Through it all, I trusted the professionals and tried to remain confident.

Finally, the call came—my soon-to-be daughter had been born prematurely in Florida. Holding her for the first time in the NICU, love overwhelmed me.

I got to briefly meet my daughter’s birth mother while I was in Florida and look forward to building an open relationship with her, ensuring my daughter benefits from our connection.

If I could go back, I would better prioritize self-care and embrace flexibility during the waiting period.

Trusting the journey and focusing on my well-being more would have eased some of my anxiety during the wait.

RG Adoption Consulting, and especially Rachel, were significant sources of support and information throughout the process. Their guidance and resources made the journey less daunting. I am so grateful I had them by my side.

My adoption journey as a single mother is a testament to the power of hope and resilience–the challenges I faced only strengthened my determination on the path to motherhood. From the initial inquiry call to finally holding my baby girl in my arms, RG Adoption Consulting was with me for every step of the process. I am forever grateful for the joy and love my daughter has brought to my life.
